The Age of Discovery!
My age of discovery was when I was around 20 years of age. I left home, moved to London, and discovered lots of things I had never known about. Here are 3 big ones.
I discovered curry. Indian. There was an Indian restaurant next to the hall where I lived, and when I entered and smelt the aroma, I thought I was in heaven. Loved it. Still do! Amazing flavour. Curry!
Secondly, I discovered that there were decent people outside of Norfolk. Us bumpkins were rather parochial, and London was a long way away. But I made good friends, who enjoyed good humour. And curry!
Thirdly, a fellow student (medical) told me that Jesus Christ had changed his life. Poor boy, I thought. Surely he needed a doctor. And quickly. Then I became ill, and others told me Jesus was the answer. A long story, but in short – Jesus Christ changed my life. 54 years ago. Still enjoying the wonderful life He alone gives. (And enjoying curry).
I sat with fellow Full Gospel Businessmen in Nottingham this weekend. I was eating curry. But the greatest pleasure was knowing the Presence of the Living God with us. The greatest discovery of my life.
